About This Spot

Stepping into Millie’s Restaurant & Bakery feels like crossing the threshold into a long-held family kitchen, where the pace slows and a quietly welcoming energy settles in. Nestled on Bradbury Road in Middleport, this unassuming spot carries the gentle hum of familiar rhythms—the clinking of plates, warm greetings at the door, and the steady comfort of home-cooked meals being prepared with care. It’s the kind of place where neighbors gather, stories are shared, and the day’s troubles soften against the backdrop of hearty, honest food.

The mood here is unpretentious and steady, a true reflection of the community it serves. Millie’s isn’t about flashy presentation or culinary trends, but about the kind of cooking that speaks softly through its savory aromas and generous portions. A late morning visit might find the counter bustling with locals savoring farm-fresh breakfasts, where comforting dishes like golden-browned home fries or thick slices of French toast invite a slow, thoughtful start to the day. As noon turns to evening, the menu settles into familiar territory—meatloaf, chicken and noodles, baked steak—each plate carrying the weight of tradition and the warmth of a family table.

What sets Millie’s apart is the unmistakable feel of Appalachian soul woven into every bite. There’s a sincerity here that transcends the food itself: well-loved pies, green beans seasoned just right, and those classic side dishes that echo childhood memories. The pace of service matches the place—a friendly, attentive rhythm that never feels rushed, making room for genuine moments between servers and diners alike. Here, food acts as a quiet connector, a simple pleasure that invites both locals and travelers to pause and savor—not just the meal, but the company and atmosphere around it.

Visiting Millie’s means stepping into a space that carries decades of shared stories and meals, where the familiar comforts of “meat and potatoes” are celebrated without fanfare but with unmistakable heart. It’s a small corner of Middleport where home feels close, and the kitchen’s warmth reaches beyond the plates to the people who gather here.

There's something specific about south east Ohio, Appalachian-ish food types/styles and service that I can't explain. You may like it, or not like it. I like it. And this place nails it perfectly. The chicken and noodles were outstanding. The green beans were perfectly SE Ohio style. Pretty sure the pie crust was even made with lard - thank you SE Ohio. Service was fast, portion size just right, prices are low enough to make you wonder at first if the food is actually going to be any good. No need to wonder, though

Working in the area and stopped in. Nice little place with that old school small town county vibe. They have all kinds of options for food, and different daily specials. Probably one of those places where everything is pretty good but nothing is great. I had a cheeseburger and fries. Soda is served in the can with a cup of ice and a straw. Fries were those crinkle cut things, they were hot and crispy, but the burger bun looked like someone had sat on it. It still tasted good though! The prices were very reasonable and the food didn't take very long to come out. Maybe 10 minutes. Service was fine. They young lady checked on me at least a few times. No complaints at all. Any time I'm back in the area working and get a chance to step out for lunch, I'll be coming back.

We went to Point Pleasant to experience the Mothman attractions. About 20 min away, we discovered the cutest restaurant. Food was amazing, really great home cooked taste. Also, the waitress was so welcoming and friendly. Anytime we visit, Millie's will definitely be where we stop for food. 100% recommend this place.

Excellent Mom & Pop establishment bordering the Ohio River near Galliopolis. Has a down home local feel to it. They serve middle of the road meat & potatoes dishes such as meatloaf, baked steak, chicken, etc. Menu is revolving. Everything is homemade and authentic including the sides. Had the BBQ ribs with mashed potatoes and creamed peas per the recommendation of my server, Brandy, who by the way was very friendly and helpful. Loved the sweet sauce they used for the ribs and the ribs themselves were very moist and tender. They have a large selection of homemade pies for dessert. I had the peanut butter pie as their most popular choice, graham cracker, had sold out. Meringue top with flaky crust. Very good. Highly recommend stopping by this establishment if you're in the area. You won't regret it!! **Postnote** I went back to Millies yesterday to celebrate my birthday with my brother. I had the lasagna with mashed potatoes and pea salad as well as a couple of pieces of their graham cracker pie. It was all so delicious. Down home cooking at its best. My brother loved his burger and fries as well. Special thanks to Brandy for being so warm and welcoming. She helped to make my birthday special!

This is a down home cooking restaurant that has been in business for over 40 + years. They make you feel as if you are sitting in their own home. There are many wonderful specials and their pies are a must. We had eight in our party and there was no problem in them accommodating our group.

Exactly the kind of place my wife and I love. Been here for a long time and there's always a reason places like this stay around. Just a little jump off the main road rewarded with actual home cooked food! We had the meatloaf and the special which was chicken noodle casserole. Both were excellent and there was plenty to fill you up . We will definitely be back.
